Classical Vocalist Gangubai Dies

Gangubai, one of the most acclaimed exponents of Khyal Gayki of the Kirana gharana died on Tuezday. Shewas born in a family of professional musicians in Dharwad in Karnataka. Gangubai was admitted to the hospital on June 3 but had returned home on July 12. Two days later she again admitted to the hospital after she developed respiratory problems.She won the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Sangeet Natak Akademi awards & She with her melodious voice mesmerized fans for over six decades
