She was best known for her poetry and also authored some short fiction, a novel and autobiography. Born into a Nair family of literary and freedom fighters in Malabar of Kerala, Kamala gained prominence in literary circles after publication of her autobiography novel "My story" in 1976. Kamala was the daughter of V. M. Nair, a former Managing Editor of the widely-circulated Malayalam daily Mathrubhumi and mother Nalappatt Balamani Amma, a renowned Malayali female poet.

Tips for sucessful career planning
Friends,career planning planning is not an activity that should be done once-in high school or college- and then left behind as we move forward in our jobs and careers.
Here, then, are a few tips to help you achieve successful career planning.
1. Make career planning an annual event
Find a day or weekend once a year- more often if you feel the need or if you're planning a major career change- and shedule a retreat for yourself. Try to block out all distractions so that you have the time to truly focus on your career-what you really want out of your career, out of your life. By making career planning an annual event, you will feel more secure in your career choice and direction- and you will be better prepared for the many uncertainties and difficulties that lie ahead in all of our jobs and career.
2. Map your path since last career planning
One of your first activities whenever you take on career planning is spending time mapping out your job and career path since the last time you did any sort of career planning. Once you have mapped ypur past, take the time to reflect on your course- and note why it looks the way it does.
3Reflect on your likes and dislikes, needs and wants
Make a two column list of your major likes and dislikes. Then use this list to examine your current job and career path. If your job and career still fall mostly in the like column, then you know you are nstill on the right path; how ever your job activities fall mostly in the dislike column, now is the time to begin examining new jobs and new careers.
4.Examine your pastimes and hobbies
Career planning provides a great time to also examine the activities you like doing when you are not working. It may sound a bit odd, to examine non-work activities when doing career planning, but it's not. Many times your hobbies and leisurely pursuits can give you great insight into future career paths.
5.Set career and job goals
A major component of career planning is setting short-term (in the coming year) and longterm (beyond a year) career and job goals. Once you intimate this process, another component of career planning becomes reviewwing and adjusting those goals as your career plans progress or change- and developing new goals once you accomplish your previous goals.

Sri Lankan issue solved
History teaches us that war and blood shed is not a solution to any problem.
But, I feel; if the SreeLankan government succeeds in it's attempt to root out the LTTE & Prabhakaran, it will solve the problem to an extent.The Sreelankan Government will get time to address the real problems of Tamil Minority. They can make sreelanka an inclusive state. If the problems of the Tamils were addressed properly, they will give up the demand for a separate state, for sure.
I think, "Why LTTE was formed?" is an irrelevant question now.. The more important question is "Is the existence of such an organization justified?" Because real problem in SreeLankan now is the continuous war and the bloodshed. Everybody will be happy if the blood shed ends ones and for ever. So, I strongly believe the ongoing operations will bring peace to the island Nation, at least for sometime. And the operation coupled with formation of an inclusive SreeLanka will bring permanent peace. Please don't forget the fact that, the formation of a separate state will not solve the problem either. In a democratic sreelanka there will be room for every body's opinion.
this is my opinion. Everybody will be having there own.

LOW facilities in HIGHER education
The report on 'HIgher education In India' prepared by the University Grants Commission said that majority of the institutions of higher education did not have good facilities and faculty, which was reflected in the assessment conducted by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council(NAAC). There are 417 universities and 20,676 colleges in the country.Of them, 140 universities and 3,492 colleges have been assessed by the NAAC, a sister organisation of the UGC, for quality control in higher education.
About 61% of the 140 universities were awarded B-grade by the NAAC, indicating they had deficiency in availibility of human resources in terms of quantity and quality of teachers.About 31% of them were given A-grade, showing they had better facilities. Seven percent of the accredited universities were graded C, indicating they had sub-standard facilities.
Majority of the colleges assessed by the NAAC also lacked adequate facilities. About 68% of the colleges were grade B, which show that they were lagging behind in facilities like library, computer centres, health centres, common room, gymnasiums, auditorium and seminar halls and quality teachers.
About 23% colleges were grade C, projecting a worse picture in terms of facilities in them.Only nine percent of the colleges were grade A, the report said. The findings in the report assume significance as they show that despite increase in funding, the results are yet to be seen in the institutions.
The Goverment has increased then funding in higher education and allocated about Rs 83,000 crore to the sector in the 11th plan.

PMget shoe attack
A young technical guy attempted to fling a shoe at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at an election rally here on Sunday afternoon but the white shoes missed him by several feet.The prime minister later asked police not to press charges against the man.It was a serious feature start from Bush. Now it is shoerism not journalism.
