South Africa in HIV history
South Africa creates 1500 new HIV infections everyday,more than 85% of them in young women..This alarming increase in new HIV infections in young South African women suggests that poverty plays a significant role in increasing vulnerability to HIV.
Researchers found that women accounted for 90% of all new HIV infections in the 15-24 age group.In the 20-29 age group,women were six times more likely to be HIV positive than men of the same age.People living in crowded slums had 'by far' the highest incidence of HIV,followed by those living in isolated and under-resourced rural regions.

Medical Tourism in Kerala
Kerala,till recently was highlited as a destination abundant in natural beauty with golden beaches, evergreen high ranges,backwaters and so on, till the scope of medical tourism was realiszd.The highly qualified and experienced doctors,hospital with good infrastructural facilities,proficient nurses and paramedical staff coupled with the low expense make India,especially Kerala an ideal place for medical tourists.

Pinarayi issue
Lavilin case rocked CPM party . It became real head ache to government. The LEFT comrades turned against Chief Minister.They cannot go with Chief Minister. The Congress party keeping mum in the issue.He made vulgar comments against bishop.The ruling CPI(M) had all along maintained that it was with political motives that Vijayan was implicated in the case.
the chances are unlikely that the CPI(M) central leadership will change its stand on the issue and disown Pinarayi Vijayan at this critical situation.
Vijayan case is most likely to top the party’s agenda when the CPI(M) politburo meets in a week time.Sources close to the party have revealed that CPI(M) might adopt a strategy to fight the case at its own level and not involving its Government in Kerala.

Winged Beauty killed by Towers
The House Sparrow (Passer Domesticus),one of the best known birds that was sighted wideli all over India,has now become rare, particularly in urban and its suburbs.Environmentalists have raised concern over the alarming decline in their numbers.
Studies on the decline of the House Sparroe population are being conducted in the U.K. for the last couple of yers.The bird has been included in the Birds of Conservation Red List.In India too, such studies are under way by ornithologists and natural lovers.
Various reasons,including use of pesticides,proliferation of concrete buildings and changes in agricultural practices have been cited as reasons for the decline in the bird population.
A recent study conducted by the Kerala Environmental Researchers Association(KERA) noted that unscientific building of mobile towers was one of the prime causes for the decline in their numbers.
A clutch can contain five to six eggs hatch in 10 to 12 days.But the study showed that eggs laid in nests near mobile phone towers were not hatched even after 25 days.Towers emit electro-magnetic rays.Being very small birds,the rays affect the nervous system of the birds.The rays have fatal effects on the eggs and fledglings,especially development of the skull bone and the rays can also misguide the birds when they navigate for foraging, the study says.
